I have been blessed with such a beautiful family. My husband, Tony, and I have six children: George, Isaac, Erin, Laura, Elizabeth, and Clare. We live in rural Kansas and have been married for 13 years. Passing on the faith has always been top priority for Tony and I as parents. Our children currently attend a Catholic School about 30 miles from our home and we’ve also dabbed into homeschooling for a time. Much to my children’s dismay I love having “school” at home when they have days off. It’s during this time that we discovered lapbooksTM. A friend and I were first exposed to lapbooksTM through the Little Flowers Girls Club. Many of the moms there mentioned lapbooksTM and we were curious. Several Google searches later, we were drawn in to the lapbookingTM world. There are so many great resources and even free lapbooksTM on the internet but we were disappointed that we weren’t finding any Catholic lapbooksTM. This good friend mentioned the numerous possibilities and topics for lapbooksTM related to the Catholic faith...and here we are. After beginning this new endeavor, I discovered the term lapbookTM was actually trademarked. Thus came the term Faith Folders. This is really quite appropriate as our lapbooksTM are based on the Catholic Faith and are for the purpose of spreading the Faith. When putting together the Faith Folders, I use the New St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism Series, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Faith & Life Series from Ignatius Press and the St. Joseph Edition of the New American Bible. As a mom of 6, my spare time for such projects is limited. This is very much a work in progress. I welcome your input and suggestions so feel free to contact me. I have to give a huge thank you to my friend, Michele, who gave me this idea and has been invaluable by volunteering to edit and proofread my often late-night creations.
