What is a Faith Folder?

A Faith Folder is our version of a Lapbook^TM. Our Faith Folders are Catholic based and are used to teach and spread the Catholic Faith. They are sold in a variety of formats: digital, cd-rom and kits.

What is a Lapbook?^TM

A lapbook^TM is a tool used to showcase and consolidate material studied and learned on a given topic. A lapbook^TM is created from a file folder, refolded to create a book which can be held in the lap. Many different mini-books and other special projects are then stored and displayed in the lapbook^TM. Lapbooks^TM can be used for science, social studies, phonics, religion and so much more. The possibilities are endless!

What are Faith Rings?

Faith Rings are a new product available from Faith Folders for Catholics. Each ring holds a set of laminated cards on a variety of faith based topics. Examples include Catholic Prayers, Ten Commandments and Works of Mercy. These are sold as a finished product that will be shipped to the customer.

I have been blessed with such a beautiful family. My husband, Tony, and I have six children: George, Isaac, Erin, Laura, Elizabeth, and Clare. Ranging in age from 16 to 5 years old. We live in rural Kansas and have been married for 17 years. Passing on the faith has always been top priority for Tony and I as parents. Our children currently attend a Catholic School about 30 miles from our home and we’ve also dabbed into homeschooling for a time. Much to my children’s dismay I love having “school” at home when they have days off. It’s during this time that we discovered lapbooks^TM.

A friend and I were first exposed to lapbooks^TM through the Little Flowers Girls Club. Many of the moms there mentioned lapbooks^TM and we were curious. Several Google searches later, we were drawn in to the lapbooking^TM world. There are so many great resources and even free lapbooks^TM on the internet but we were disappointed that we weren’t finding any Catholic lapbooks^TM. This good friend mentioned the numerous possibilities and topics for lapbooks^TM related to the Catholic faith...and here we are.

After beginning this new endeavor, I discovered the term lapbook^TM was actually trademarked. Thus came the term Faith Folders. This is really quite appropriate as our lapbooks^TM are based on the Catholic Faith and are for the purpose of spreading the Faith.

My sister, Dee, has been a great blessing through all of this. If you've seen my booth at a conference, you've likely met Dee. She has been a great help in numerous ways. She is a treasure!

When putting together the Faith Folders, I use the New St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism Series, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Faith & Life Series from Ignatius Press and the St. Joseph Edition of the New American Bible and other great Catholic books.

As a mom of 6, my spare time for such projects is limited. This is very much a work in progress. I welcome your input and suggestions so feel free to contact me.

I am also very thankful to my beautiful family for their patience, support and help in keeping this ministry and business venture going. They are my inspiration.
